Upcoming Opportunity: Waterfront Blues Fest!
We are excited to once again support the Oregon Food Bank’s Waterfront Blues Festival, and help make the choice easier for those hoping to bike to the event. We’ll be monitoring bikes at the two bike parking corrals all five days of the event and raising funds for our programs. We need your help to have a strong presence and make the event fun!
We have lots of opportunities to volunteer.
Whether you want to help out all five days, or show up for a single 3-hour shift, we’d love your help!
Volunteers get free admittance to that day’s events and a commemorative 2017 WBF t-shirt. Look up the schedule here!
We’ll be monitoring self-parked bikes, telling participants about what we do, and providing safety checks and minimal repairs.
Sign up here to let us know when you are able to come, t-shirt size, etc. and RSVP to the facebook event if you’re so inclined 🙂
It always promises to be a great time, and an awesome opportunity to connect with the Portland community about Bikes for Humanity.
All hands on deck!
We would love for you to join us, whether your interest is wrenching on bikes in our shop, spreading goodwill at an external event, or taking a leadership position on our board.
Most volunteers teach and learn bicycle repair procedures while refurbishing donated bikes for sale or giveaway. We offer use of shop tools, resources, and a few additional incentives for dedicated volunteers.
You can carve out the niche you want here. We appreciate volunteer hands at external events and with our fundraising efforts. You may log volunteer hours at the B4HPDX Bike School & Shop or through remote volunteering (grant writing, event planning, photography, etc).
Volunteer Orientation at the Shop
Volunteer orientation is the third Thursday of each month.
Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for additional volunteer opportunities.
We ask new volunteers to attend an orientation. You can get to know the organization and meet us. You’ll get a brief overview of our mission, the shop policies, and take a tour of our workspace.
